This program forms the foundation of almost all courses at Global Village. It focuses on all skill areas—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—with a heavy emphasis on grammar and practical dialogue for communication in the core "Standard" (20 lessons/week) track. Students can choose from 20, 25, or 30 lessons per week, with higher intensity tracks including elective subjects to improve accuracy, vocabulary, and fluency.

Focuses on basic proficiency (CEFR A1 to A2). The program provides the foundational building blocks for communication.
Progresses from Pre-Intermediate to Intermediate levels (CEFR B1 to B2). Lessons shift toward practical daily life vocabulary, fluency, and the refinement of grammatical structures.
Covers Upper-Intermediate to Mastery (CEFR B2+ to C2). This stage focuses on achieving high-level accuracy and mastery of complex topics and fields.
Designed for students aiming for higher education, this program allows entry into partner colleges and universities without an IELTS or TOEFL score upon completion of level GV6 or GV7. The curriculum strengthens advanced communication, academic reading, and writing skills. It includes specialized training in essay writing, research paper preparation, study methods, note-taking, and presentation skills.
Typically requires 30 lessons per week (20 General English lessons + 10 Academic elective lessons). Progression through levels takes an average of 8–12 weeks per level.
Requires a level check test for entry. General enrollment follows the weekly intake of the school.

Students typically build their general English foundation in the GEP tracks until they reach the required level (usually GV5) to begin focused EAP electives.
Students at this level can enter specific partner institutions like Bow Valley College or certain programs at SAIT. Focus is on academic readiness and core research skills.
Completion of this level allows entry into most partner institutions, including Camosun College, UVic (Continuing Studies), and Royal Roads University. Focus is on research-level papers and high-level presentations.
This course prepares students for the IELTS exam through focused skill development and strategy. Global Village Victoria is an official IELTS Test Centre. In Calgary, IELTS preparation is also offered as an evening program. The program covers specific exam-taking techniques alongside core language improvements.
Flexible based on student needs; elective tracks are typically taken as part of a 25 or 30 lesson/week schedule.
Victoria requires a level of GV5-8 (CEFR B2-C2) for the specialized IELTS program. Intake follows general school cycles, though specific exam dates are fixed.
